Counselling and psychotherapy offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space for you to talk about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. It’s a collaborative process where we work together to understand your challenges, explore different perspectives, and develop strategies to cope and grow. It’s not about being told what to do, but about empowering you to find your own answers and live more authentically.
You can book a session by filling out the contact form on my website, or by sending me an email directly at [email protected] – I aim to respond to all enquiries within 24-48 hours.
Each session lasts 50 minutes and is held weekly to help build consistency and momentum in your healing process.
The first session is primarily an opportunity for us to meet, get to know each other, and see if we’re a good fit. I’ll explain confidentiality and how I work. You can tell me what brings you to therapy, what you hope to achieve, and ask any questions you have. There’s no pressure; it’s a chance to explore how we might work together.
The number of sessions you’ll need varies greatly from person to person and depends on your individual needs and goals. Some people find a few sessions helpful for a specific issue, while others prefer longer-term therapy for deeper exploration and sustained support. We can discuss this during our initial consultation and review it regularly. In most cases, I recommend weekly sessions for at least the first six weeks. This gives us time to establish a trusting relationship and begin exploring your concerns in more depth.
Yes. I offer sessions both online and in-person, depending on what feels most comfortable and accessible for you. Online therapy offers flexibility and convenience, especially if you have a busy schedule or live outside of Tralee.
Absolutely. Your privacy is a top priority. All sessions are confidential, and I follow strict professional and ethical guidelines to ensure your information is protected.
We’ll review your progress and discuss how things are going. Some clients choose to continue with ongoing support, while others may feel ready to end therapy or reduce the frequency of sessions. The pace and direction are always led by you.
Yes, therapy is entirely voluntary. You are free to pause or stop at any stage, although I do recommend having a closing session to reflect and bring things to a natural close.
Confidentiality is a cornerstone of ethical counselling practice. Everything you share with me is held in strict confidence. There are very rare exceptions where I might need to break confidentiality, such as if there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others, or if required by law. This will be fully explained in our initial session and is outlined in my client agreement.
I understand that life happens, and sometimes you may need to cancel or reschedule a session. I require 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged at the full rate. This policy helps ensure fairness to both you and me, as it allows me to offer the time slot to other clients.
